This is the second part of our blog series about the popular Thai drama channels where you can find highly recommended and beautifully produced lakorns. If you missed Part 1 of this series, you can catch up and read it here.

Now, let’s move on to the next channels on our list. These two are considered a bit bigger compared to the ones we discussed in Part 1. This is based on what we’ve read from articles, forums, and comments shared by fellow Thai lakorn fans.

3) Channel 7 (CH7)

Thai Ch7

From what we’ve gathered from many die-hard fans, Channel 7 used to be the biggest and most popular Thai drama channel. However, in recent years, its rival, Channel 3, seems to have taken the lead — producing more high-quality lakorns and showcasing younger, talented, and popular actors and actresses.

But let’s save the Channel 3 talk for later — for now, let’s dive into Channel 7.

Ch7 Thai Dramas

Just like in the previous article, we will only share a few popular Thai dramas (that we have personally watched) from this channel.

Jao Sao Jum Yorm (The Unwilling Bride)

The heroine was supposed to marry her childhood sweetheart, but he left her at the altar. The male lead was also set to marry his childhood best friend, but she ran away. Mourning their failed weddings, the heroine and the male lead met at a bar and bonded over their heartbreaks. They got drunk, had fun — and accidentally spent the night together.

The next morning, after sobering up, she quietly disappeared while he was determined to take responsibility. They crossed paths again later on and were blackmailed over their scandalous past. Wanting to protect her reputation, the male lead offered her a marriage — but it would be only for show. The heroine refused at first, but after facing threats from the blackmailer, she agreed.

Lah Ruk Sut Kob Fah (Chasing Love to the Final Horizon)

A highly skilled royal guard was assigned to train the heroine to become a Princess. Originally, he was the personal bodyguard of a Prince — a rebellious royal who defied his parents by falling for a woman they disapproved of.

To fulfill a promise between the heroine’s father and the King, the Prince was set to marry her. The heroine wasn’t interested in marrying a man she didn’t know, and the Prince wasn’t thrilled either — until he finally met her and became smitten.

While the heroine tried to make life hard for the royal guard to push him away, he stayed patient and determined. Even though she was destined for the Prince, her heart began leaning toward the guard, who fought hard to hide his own feelings for her.

Koo Za Rot Zab (Spicy Flavor of Love)

The heroine returned home after studying abroad, only to find out their family’s Fermented Fish business was about to go bankrupt. Her mother turned to her late husband's best friend for help.He agreed to lend them millions — but only if the heroine married his troublemaking, womanizing son, the male lead. The heroine was furious, especially after meeting him. He shamelessly flirted with her without knowing her true identity, all while being in a relationship with a model.

Mistaking the household maid for his future bride, he insulted the heroine’s family, thinking he was above them. Fueled by anger, the heroine decided to teach him a lesson. She played along and agreed to the marriage — keeping her real identity a secret. As they dated, the male lead slowly fell for her, swearing he would leave everything behind for love, while she struggled to hold back the truth. (It was hilarious watching her keep a straight face the whole time!)

Popular Channel 7 Actors and Actresses

One of the most popular actresses from Channel 7 is Min Pechaya. She’s probably one of the senior stars still active with the channel. Many of her contemporaries have either gone freelance or transferred, like Pooklook Fonthip (The Unwilling Bride heroine).

Aum Patcharapa, one of Thailand’s biggest superstars, also seems to be freelance now but has stayed loyal to her home network. (Feel free to correct us in the comments if we’re wrong!)

We also have the stunningly beautiful Stephany Auernig. We’ll admit, we have yet to watch one of her dramas, but she’s definitely on our list. There's also Mookda Narinrak, Now Tisanart, and Pinkploy Paparwadee. These three actresses are not only beautiful but have absolutely great acting skills. Ch7 has the most well-rounded actresses. Just think of Baifern Pimchanok, who actually was originally from Ch7 before going freelance.

For the actors, Weir Sukollawat easily tops Channel 7’s roster. Even as he gets older, he remains one of the biggest stars here.

Thankfully, the channel also has the swoon-worthy leading men like Euro Yotsawat, Kem Hussawee (recently went freelance), and Mik Thongraya — seriously, he’s so handsome! And of course, there’s also the gorgeous Mike Pattaradet with his hit Thai Dramas Suparburoot Jorm Jon (Genteman Thief Series): Duang Jai Kabot (A Rebel’s Heart) and Maturot Lohgan.

Romantic Scenes

When it comes to romantic scenes, Channel 7 Thai Lakorns are not overly conservative, although they’re also not as daring as GMMTV — at least in most of their dramas.

As we mentioned earlier, dramas starring Weir and Min alone already have a lot of kissing scenes that go beyond simple pecks. Even Mik and Pooklook in Unwilling Bride had plenty of sweet and passionate moments too.

The good thing is that Channel 7 dramas strike the right balance. They don't overdo it, but they also don't hold back too much. If it’s a love story, they add just the right amount of romance to match what the story needs.
