This is the second part of the article blog posting series on the popular Thai drama channels where you could watch highly recommended and beautifully produced lakorns. If you missed Part 1 of this series, you can read it here.
Now let’s move on to the next in my list. These two are a bit bigger channels compared to what were discussed in part 1. That is based on what I read online from articles, forums, and comments from Thai Lakorn fans.
Channel 7
Thai drama channel 7, based on what I read from other die-hard fans, used to be the bigger and most popular channel. But in the recent years, its rival, Channel 3, has surpassed Ch7 in terms of producing quality lakorns and possessing younger talented and popular actors and actresses. But, so much about Ch3, let’s discuss Channel 7 first.
Channel 7 Thai Dramas
Like in the previous article, I will only mention a few popular Thai dramas (that I have watched) from this channel.
Jao Sao Jum Yorm (Unwilling Bride, When I Marry a Stranger)
The heroine was supposed to marry her childhood sweetheart, but the guy left her at the altar. The male lead was supposed to marry his childhood best friend, but she ran away. Mourning over their failed weddings, both the heroine and male lead met at a bar and found themselves in the same situation. They got drank and had fun, but they also slept together. Ooops! After both got sober the following morning, she left him without a trace while he wanted to take responsibility for what happened.
They’d one day meet again and were extorted and threatened to get exposed with their scandalous past. The male lead, who seemed smitten by her, offered to help keep her reputation by offering her marriage. But it was all a façade, a fake marriage. The heroine rejected the idea but later succumbed to it after getting attacked by the extortionist.
Lah Ruk Sut Kob Fah (Chasing Love to the Final Horizon)
A trusted and most skilled royal guard was tasked to train the heroine to become a Princess. The royal guard was the body guard of a Prince. The Prince always disobeyed his parents and got into a relationship with a woman his parents strongly rejected. And so the King ordered the Prince’s guard to check on the heroine and train her to become the Princess. The heroine’s father was very close to the King and both promised to marry their children when they come of age.
The heroine didn’t want to marry a man she barely knew and the Prince wasn’t up for it either. But it all changed when he saw the heroine. He got instantly attracted to her. The heroine gave the guard hard time in the hopes of him giving up, but the guard was persistent. Though she was bound to marry the Prince, her heart started to open up for the royal guard. Knowing that she was bound for the throne, the royal guard would try his hardest to keep his feelings as well.
Koo Za Rot Zab (Spicy Flavor of Love)
The heroine went home after studying abroad only to meet the unpleasant news that their Fermented Fish Business was about to get bankrupt. Her mom tried to ask the help of his late husband’s close friend. That friend did not hesitate and offered her millions. But she was reluctant to accept such huge amount without doing anything in return. That friend then asked for her only daughter to marry his easygoing, lazy, and womanizing son, the male lead, to straighten him up. The heroine was against it especially after meeting the male lead. He was hitting on her while in a relationship with her girlfriend model. She did not tell him her real name so he had no real idea about her.
After knowing that the male lead would get into an arranged marriage with a Fermented Fish business owner, he got disgusted and threw all sorts of insults to the heroine and her family. This irked the female heroine even more. The male lead also mistaken the heroine’s household help as the daughter he was arranged to marry. The heroine then took the chance to teach him a lesson. She later agreed to marry him. She dated him until his marriage, keeping the truth from him that she was the one he’d marry. He swore to leave it all behind for her, and she just tried her best not to crack and held it all in. hahaha!

Popular Channel 7 Thai Actors and Actresses
One of the most popular actresses in Ch7 is Min Pechaya. She’s probably one of the senior in this channel. Most of her fellow actresses either went freelance or transferred to another channel like Pooklook Fontip (Unwilling Bride). Thai superstar, Aum Patcharapa, seems to be a freelance as she has no exclusive contract (as reported) with Ch7, but she remained loyal to her mother network. You can correct me if I’m wrong on this one. Leave a comment in the comment section. And then there’s also the stunningly beautiful Stephany Auernig. However, I must admit that I have yet to watch one of her dramas.
For the famous actors, Weir Sukollawat should be at the top of the list. He’s such a big star in this channel. Though he’s getting old, he remains to be one of the top actors in Ch7. Good thing the channel still has the younger and dashingly good looking Mik Thongraya. This guy is so handsome, I swear! Hahah. Fangirling right there! And then there’s also the gorgeous Mike Pataradet. I will also admit that I have yet to watch one of his dramas. I am eyeing an interesting one already.
Romantic Scenes
When it comes to romantic scenes, Thai Lakorn Channel 7 is not overly conservative, although not as daring as GMM TV In MOST of their dramas. Like I mentioned, Weir and Min drama alone have lots of kissing scenes that were not solely peck kisses. Even Mik and Pooklook in Unwilling Bride had quite a lot of such scenes as well.
The thing is that they are not overdoing or underdoing scenes like this. If it’s a love story, they add enough romantic scenes to a certain degree that’s needed in the story.
So, that ends part 2. I had to break this again since this one is quite lengthy. For PART 3 and last part of this article series of Thai drama channels where you can watch highly recommended lakorns from, CLICK HERE.
